Prayer Request

We are having a very tough time with getting a loan. After Michael was laid off he took 2 weeks off (which was much needed for him, he has worked everyday since he was 16) before actively pursuing a job. He couldn't find something making the pay we were used to, not to mention something he was passionate about. He finally found a job at Lowe's but he was working the night stocking job from 9p-6a. Let me tell you that was NOT fun!!! We never saw each other! After about 3 weeks of working at Lowe's my Uncle hooked him up with someone at Jarboe Sales Inc. He was hired on instantly and is a deliver driver, delivering wine & liquor to liquor stores, restaurants, casinos, etc. He is really liking his job (because he isn't on his feet all the time). So everything sounds great right? Michael has a full time job & a part time job, I have been hired on as a 5 day a week preschool teacher and still working 4 nights a week. Sounds like everything is going great, right?! Well there is a problem to this "picture perfect" picture. Michael for the first 90 days is on a training period. Which means that he is technicially working for a temp agency until Aug 3rd. Well when the mortgage company goes to do what the call a Verification of Employment (VOE) Jarboe says Michael doesn't work there. :(

We are now working with a lady who has been very helpful (and takes pitty on us, since our house has been done for 2 weeks now) and is proactive in getting us the loan!

Here is where you come in...For the next week or so if you could just pray that the loan will go threw, the underwriter will have everything they need and see that we are good, honest, never miss a payment, fabulous credit people and give us the loan!! As soon as we here something I will let you all know!!

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers over the next week! We NEED them!!!

First year of marriage

Cheers to us and many happy years together!!

It is 7:20 on June 7, 2009 and right now was when Todd Craig was wrapping up our ceremony! I can not believe that we have been married a year already! It feels like it has gone by so fast. I have to say that this has been an exciting and hard year. Here are a few things I have learned:

1. Michael likes to go to bed early.
2. He doesn't like clutter!
3. He never makes the bed!
4. Even when he lost his job he was still optimistic about our financial future, never showed me he was scared.
5. Michael like to grocery shop every weekend.
6. Our parents have been very supportive in our financial decisions and given us advice when needed.
7. Michael does NOT travel in airplanes well!!!!
8. He could eat a peanut butter sandwich EVERYDAY!
9. He lets me reward myself buy shopping when I have had a rough week.
10. When I was making decisions about finishing college he told me that whatever I decided was my decision and he would support me 100%.
11. When I was told my car as on it's last leg, he told me he would get a ride to work from his sister so I didn't have to be without a car. (My 4-Runner is working GREAT, by the way!)
12. When I want to have a girls night out, he doesn't complain.
13. Michael's idea of a good weekend is sitting at home. Mine is running errands and being out and about.
14. He doesn't care if I babysit both friday & saturday night, even if we haven't seen each other all week.
15. After all the car trouble, lay-off, and house issues we have been dealing with I would NEVER want to have all those hardships with anyone but Michael! He is such a strong man and I am proud to call him my husband! This last 365 days has been a true test to our marriage and I can't wait for the next 70 years to spend with him!!!

I love you baby! Thanks for marrying me!!!

We are almost done...

Instead of telling you about the progress of our house, I'll just show you!! We are hoping all of this will be OURS in the next week or so!! In the midst of all this excitement Michael & I would like to ask that you keep us in your prayers as we take this huge leap to become home owners.

The day sod was layed...it took 22 rolls of sod!

Paint, Closets, Tile and New Jobs

Michael & I went to check on the progress of the house (because we are house stalkers!) and when we walked in the front door the had ALL the tile done in the whole house and the back splash are done!! They just have to grout the floors! Everything is starting to come together and we couldn't be more excited!

Back Splash! We love it!!!

On another note: Michael started a new job on Monday. He is a distribution driver for Jarboe Sales. So far he says he likes it! He likes not having to be on his feet all day. This week he is riding along with other people, then next week he will drive a truck and in 2 weeks he gets his own route! On monday when Michael came home he told me that we needed to open a liquor store because no matter what the economy is doing liquor stores are always wanted!!! I just laughed!

Birthday, Cabinets & Garage Door OH MY!!

I would have to say that this weekend has been one of the most fun ones I have had in a long time!

Friday:
We drove by the house and they have our garage door up, cabinets unloaded and the texturing done! We are so close to closing we are ready to pack up and move!

Looking into the kitchen from the living room. They are going to paint and them put the cabinets up!

Saturday:
We celebrated Michael's 28th Birthday. We had family and a few friends come over for a BBQ, the last one at our duplex! It was nice to hang out with everyone. Michael and I are sure blessed with awesome friends and family.

Michael obviously isn't 52. We had the 25 left over from my birthday and we thought it would be funny to change them around!

I sure do love my husband!
