Lions, Tigers, Bears...OH MY!

Saturday was a beautiful day so we pack a lunch and headed to the Zoo, for a family Zoo day!
Apparently all of our city had the same idea, but luckily we got there about 11a and beat the crowd.

All of the animals were out, they were all preforming, talking and showing off!  It couldn't of been a better day!  Harper would say "aninamial" when she would see something she wasn't sure what it was :-)

Of all the times I've been to the zoo I never knew they had this little penguin hidey hole, that was Harper-sized!  And there was a little penguin that was loving the one on one attention he was getting from the kids!

We went in to the rain forest hoping to see the two new baby jaguars (but they were sleeping).  But the turtle was very interested in Harper, he is literally less than 12in from her hand!

The Rhino's were previously arguing before we walked up and this little guy (or girl, I didn't pay attention) had a boo-boo under his eye, by his horn.  It actually looked kinda bad. :-/

Why is it that kids want to play on the playground at the Zoo so bad?  We came to see "aninamials"!

The tiger was sleeping, so I was reading about the tiger cub the was born this last September, the tiger cub weighted more than Harpy girl when she was born (but not by much!)

Ending the day with a train ride!

20 Months

I think I say it every month but I can't believe how much you have grown!  You are such a big girl and are growing and changing right in front of our eyes!

-You weigh about 24lbs (thats via our scale at home)
-You are in 12-18 and some 18-24 month clothes
-You wear a size 3/4 shoe
-You wear a size 3 diaper

-You are going to bed between 7-8p and waking between 7:30/8:30a
-You are a great napper (most of the time) the only day you get 2 naps a day are Thursdays and Saturdays and that nap may vary between 45 mins to 2 hours, it just depends on your mood :-)
-This month you saw your first snow, it didn't last long (or even stick) but we made sure we bundled you up and went outside to document it!

-You are constantly learning things, it really amazes us the things you figure out so quickly!  You got about 6 or so puzzles for Christmas and you had them figured out within a week.  You knew all the animals, the sounds the made, the shapes and colors of every single puzzle. If you are missing a piece you know exactly which one to look for and search and search until the piece is found and the puzzle is complete!

-You know how to count to 10 (1, 2, 3 and 4 come very easy the others you can say, we are working on getting you to say them on your own)
-You know the Itsy Bitsy Spider (or Bitsy as you call it)
-You know A, B, C, and D (we are working on the others)
-You are constantly saying "thank you" and "pease"
-You are saying more people's names every day.

-You love to be outside
-You carry my old cell phone around all the time
-Your snack trap is your BFF
-You LOVE to read
-Bubble Guppies is the only TV show you watch

-When we put you to bed you always say "I yuv you" in the most pitiful voice.  I think you want us to feel bad for putting you to bed, it usually doesn't work ;-)
-You visited the dentist for the first time last week and Dr. April was impressed with your brushing and how your teeth looked!  We go back in 6 months :-)
-Speaking of teeth you have almost all of them but the 4 just before your 18 moth molars, but they are poking through!

This month has definately been better that last, you aren't as easy to throw fits as you were last month.  You are just the light of our lives and we have no idea what we did to deserve someone like you!  We love you to heaven and back, Harper Jane.

Welcome 2013!

We welcomed the new year at Amanda and Jason's (lucky for us they just moved into a neighborhood that connects to ours!)

For the 2nd year in a row, little miss wouldn't go to sleep and stayed up to welcome in the New Year!  At least she slept in (a little) the next morning!

A champagne toast with great friends to welcome a new year!

Hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year!  Can't wait to see what 2013 brings our family!
